Dr. Chilton at the last investigation nutrient / gene interactions, in 5th June 2009 issue of the Journal of Biological Chemistry has played a role in the development of gene-Smart program, which focuses on five basic principles:
Polyphenols increase - Eat more dark-skinned fruits and vegetables. Drink more than 100% fruit juices, green tea, red wine, chocolate and black.
Add Omega - Increase consumption of omega-3-fatty acids, led to 1,250 – 1,500 mg EPA and DHA combined per day acid by eating more fish and high quality through a supplement of fish oil. Add 400 – 500 mg daily of omega-6 GLA specific call.
Increase the fiber – the daily intake of 14-16 grams of fiber per 1,000 calories consumed, or about 30 grams of fiber for a 2,000 calorie diet.
Reduce calories – if you are overweight, reduce your calorie intake by 20% to 30% of what it will take for your current weight.
Exercise to reduce inflammation - Exercise at least 5 days a week for at least 30 minutes, especially on the reduction of inflammation throughout the body.
